Dr Atkins for Life: The Controlled Diet for Permanent Weight Loss and Good Health by Robert C Atkins

Whether you've never tried Atkins, or you have but had difficulty "staying on" the plan, "Dr Atkins for Life" is for you. Filled with advice and tips on navigating the every-day challenges that come with eating low-carbohydrate in a high-carbohydrate world, the book provides a simple and straightforward maintenance program for anyone to follow. This book contains: 200 menu plans - over 6 months of menus with controlled carbohydrate counts; 125 recipes, including breakfasts, lunches and dinners; holiday meals and ethnic dishes; time-tested tips from those who've been there and won their battle with weight; and self-tests and quizzes to help you meet and stay with your goals

Lighten up by Pete Cohen

Lighten Up is presented in two main sections. The first part of the book sets out to help you understand your relationship with food and how to view yourself. The author Pete Cohen is a life coach you may recognise from appearances on GMTV and the BBC2 series Confidence Lab. He applies motivational techniques he uses to train athletes to the Lighten Up programme and actually makes the whole thing fun. The second part of the book focuses on habits and how to change. It gives food, nutrition and exercise advice. There are no strict rules, no weighing, no measuring, no gimmicks and no calorie counting--just pure choices for you to make.

The Protein Power Lifeplan by Michael Eades

Reviewer: A reader from aberdeen, scotland United Kingdom With so much confusing information being available to us now regards nutrition, it is reassuring to come across a book that explains how the body utilizes food with fascinating reasoning. In essence it seems Insulin and how we mishandle it amd suffer the results is the centre of the theme. this is a book I recommend to anyone interested in their health and is prepared to put the theory into practise

The Schwarzbein Principle: The Truth about Aging, Health and Weight Loss by Diane Schwarzbein

Reviewer: A reader from UK If you read this book you may never be the same again. You will be changed for the better - forever. I bought this because my friend lost 31lbs in the first year, and another 21 pounds by June the following year. When I saw her this Christmas she was gorgeous, svelte, glowing with health, full of energy. It seemed incongruous to see her tucking into hearty meals while I was starving on a lettuce leaf and losing nothing!

Why Weight?: A Guide to Ending Compulsive Eating by Geneen Roth

Reviewer: A reader from surrey England I only got this book yesterday but have not been able to put it down. There is lots of work to do so you need a bout of flu like me so you can spend proper time with no interuptions. Some of the stuff I found quite painful and some of it I just pencilled through as it did not seem to include me. I know its only been a day but I feel very positive about this on writting this I have about 2 stone to loose and feel quite confident that I am giving up diets and my scales and am going to finallyu live the life I have always envied and that is one of someone who never thinks about food and just eats when they are hungry...Watch this space.......
